Marissa and Spencer’s modern destination wedding at Finca Morneta in Mallorca, Spain
We are so grateful to have had the incredible opportunity to photograph and film a dream destination wedding in the breathtaking Mallorca, Spain at Finca Morneta. As destination wedding photographers and videographers, we thrive on capturing well-designed, guest experience-focused events all over the world. This Mallorca wedding weekend is one of the most stunning celebrations we have had the pleasure of capturing!
The couple, Marissa and Spencer, originally met in California just before the pandemic and shared a special bond, having spent much of the lockdown period together. For their wedding, they brought friends and family from all over the United States to celebrate their love in one of the most beautiful destinations in Europe.
The Mallorca destination wedding weekend kicked off with a welcome party at Balneario Illetas, a beach club just outside of the city. It was the perfect way for guests to unwind after long flights and get into vacation mode. With drinks in hand, everyone mingled, soaking in the ocean views and the couple’s excitement. From a photography and videography perspective, it was a fantastic opportunity for us to capture those initial candid moments, the laughter, the hugs, and the heartfelt reunions.
As photographers, one of the highlights of this destination event was the time we spent working with the couple before the wedding day. We made sure to walk through the venue, Finca Morneta, and attend the ceremony rehearsal and welcome event, allowing us to familiarize ourselves with both the guests, the space. Having multiple pre-wedding events also really enhanced the full destination experience for their guests. These moments allowed us to create a deeper connection with the couple and their loved ones, which always results in more natural and meaningful photos on the big day.
The wedding day at Finca Morneta was magical from start to finish. We started the morning capturing the couple as they got ready at the Sant Jaume Design Hotel In the city. Palma’s charming streets provided a stunning backdrop for their first set of photos, as we took a leisurely stroll around the town, snapping shots along the way. The combination of historic architecture and bright Mediterranean light added a unique element to the couple's portraits.
We then headed over to the gorgeous Finca Morneta, a private estate wedding venue about 30 minutes from the heart of the city of Palma de Mallorca. The venue perfectly reflected the couple’s desire for minimal yet sophisticated decor. This venue is actually still an active home for the family who owns it! As a guest you would never know, but we loved learning the history of the estate.
Our bride and groom opted to let the natural beauty of Finca Morneta shine through, with neutral tones and pops of color in the florals adding a subtle yet summery feel. The use of wishbone chairs and understated décor enhanced the intimate and relaxed atmosphere, while elevating the space with these luxurious rental pieces.
Before the ceremony, guests were treated to welcome drinks, allowing them to explore the outdoor venue and enjoy the surrounding beauty. After the ceremony, we took wedding party photos against the backdrop of Finca Morneta’s stunning landscape, capturing those first post-vow moments of joy.
Cocktail hour around the Finca Morneta pool was another picturesque moment. Guests mingled as the warm Spanish sun began to set, and we took the chance to snap candid shots of everyone enjoying the atmosphere. Prior to dinner, we stole a quiet moment with the couple for some sunset photos. The bride removed her veil and added a chic bow to the back of her dress, bringing a playful twist to the golden-hour portraits. These photos are some of our favorites! Intimate, natural, and set against the beautiful Mallorcan countryside and distant mountains.
The relaxed reception then followed, with a multi-course meal that reflected the slower pace of life in Spain. The decor mirrored the ceremony, with that same neutral aesthetic and floral accents with pops of color creating a cohesive, elegant look. As the night transitioned to the after-party, the bride slipped into a fun mini dress, and the celebration moved indoors, transforming into a club-like atmosphere. With flash photography, we captured energetic moments as everyone danced well into the night. Although our time with the couple was over, the party didn’t stop until 3 a.m., with late-night snacks and shuttles waiting to take guests back to the city.
From start to finish, this destination wedding in Mallorca, Spain was a true celebration of love, family, and friendship. The beautiful setting, combined with the couple’s relaxed approach and thoughtful details, made for an unforgettable experience. As photographers and videographers, we were honored to capture every moment!
