An Elegant Wedding at The Ringling, Museum of Art, in Sarasota, Florida

Chelsea and Sam celebrated their elegant wedding at The Ringling Museum of Art, an incredibly unique and luxurious wedding venue in Sarasota, Florida. The Ringling is a luxurious wedding venue with stunning historic architecture, luscious green tropical grounds, and beautiful waterfront views of Sarasota Bay. This one-of-a-kind wedding venue is an Italian-inspired architectural masterpiece with a courtyard full of classical sculptures and stunning landscapes. Between the gorgeous artwork found in the galleries of the museum and the beautifully manicured grounds of the courtyard, The Ringling provides a classic and sophisticated ambiance that makes this space one of the most highly sought after venues in Florida.

The bride and groom got ready at the Art Ovation Hotel with their family and wedding party. Our team was hired as both the photographer and videographer for the wedding. We took a narrative approach with the video, doing a morning interview with Sam utilizing lots of audio to drive the film’s story forward. You can watch their wedding video here! Despite the weather, the natural lighting in the rooms created stunning spaces for these two to get ready before the wedding day.

Chelsea's details included a classic white theme to compliment her wedding day florals. Detail photos during the wedding day are some of my favorites to photograph! Chelsea then put her dress on with the help of her mother and sisters. She wore a gorgeous Anne Barge design from Calvet Couture. Her tulle gown had a straight across neckline that featured floral embroidered appliques scattered throughout. She also paired the dress with a removable floral lace high neck, long sleeve top.

We then made our way to The Ringling with Chelsea and the girls for some solo bridal portraits and an emotional first look with her father. The couple decided to skip the first look in order to have a special moment down the aisle, so once we had Chelsea tucked away, Sam and his groomsmen made their way to the venue via the trolly!

At this point the rain really started to pour, but as vendors, we know how to pivot plans and make decisions on behalf of what the couple would want.! Tradition says that a rainy wedding is a sign of “good luck” or a “lasting marriage”. Despite the rain Chelsea and Sam were in positive spirits. The ceremony was held in the outdoor courtyard of the Ringling and their amazing friends and family made the best out of it and sat in the rain to be there and celebrate this amazing couple! The space was decorated with a few simple arrangements of roses and baby's breath down the aisle, really letting the architecture of the courtyard speak for itself. Their ceremony was emotional and everyone could feel the love and excitement they shared after being announced as husband and wife for the first time!

Following the ceremony, we took the couple into the Ringling’s art gallery for their portraits and a private vow reading. It was then time for the reception! Originally the dinner and dancing were also supposed to be held in the courtyard, but the dinner was shifted to be underneath the Loggia.  It’s so important to have a backup plan ready, especially when planning an outdoor wedding with the unpredictable Florida weather! The reception continued the beautiful black and white themed decor, with the tables hosting a mix of large floral arrangements of white roses, baby’s breath and candelabras. After a delicious dinner by Culinary Creations we watched our couple get down on the dance floor underneath the pouring rain with all their friends and family by their side. Everyone really leaned in, let loose and had the time of their lives!
